Our team of skilled nurses, therapists, and caregivers are committed to providing exceptional care to all our residents. We work together to create an individualized care plan that meets each resident's unique needs and preferences.

1. Nursing Care

At Royal Leamington Spa Nursing Home, we provide  nursing care. This means that qualified registered nurses are on duty  24-hours a day. Our nurses are supported by a team of well-trained care  staff, domestic, kitchen and activities staff. Nursing care is for  residents who have more complex health needs. However, you can be  reassured that nursing care can be successfully provided away from more  clinical and impersonal surroundings. Be assured that the time that you  spend with your loved one will be quality time, focused on enjoyment,  and not worry or stress. We understand how difficult it is for older  people and their families to cope with illness and how it impacts on  their quality of life. Our nurses will make a full assessment and  develop with you a plan of care that not only supports the residents’  health and well-being, but supports and manages specific illness and  conditions. All of our nurses are fully qualified, experienced and have a  strong understanding of the most up-to-date clinical practices. They  also maintain the necessary clinical skills to support the home. Nurses  work closely with our wider care team so care is delivered seamlessly.  Our team is able to provide nursing for very complex needs right through  to End of Life care with dignity and compassion. 

2. End-of-life/Palliative Care

Good end of life care is about living as much as  it is about dying. It is about managing symptoms so that each person  remains as comfortable as possible and is able to make choices about  their care.  Together with each resident and their family, we work in  close partnership with the GP, district nurses and palliative care  service or Macmillan team. Developing good relationships with  professionals who can provide specialist knowledge and advice is a key  part of our service. End of life care is about providing support that  meets the needs of both the person who is dying and the people close to  them. Part of this is ensuring psychological, social, spiritual and  practical support. And it also includes understanding the importance of  demonstrated love, warmth and comfort together with a high level of  human connection through touch, sensory stimulation, sensory calming  while limiting environmental stresses. It involves caring for relatives  and forward planning so that needs and wishes are respected and the  dignity of the resident and their family is upheld.  In all aspects of  supporting end of life care, we are sensitive to the needs of family and  friends. Whenever possible overnight stays are accommodated and staff  ensure that meals, snacks and refreshments are available. Families and  friends are consulted, listened to and involved in every way. 

3. Respite

We understand how difficult it can be for  families or friends providing ongoing care. For this reason it's  important to occasionally find time for yourself. Our respite care  services provide a crucial break for carers, either for just a few hours  with a visit to one of our day clubs or an overnight stay in a care  home for a few days or a few weeks. This offers family carers the chance  to do daily chores, go on holiday or simply have some well-earned time  off. We also provide convalescent care, to help people who need to  recuperate after a hospital stay and to support them to be well enough  to go back home. We offer the opportunity for short term stays at our  homes, subject to availability. Short term respite stays can be arranged  to give carers a well-earned break. Our homely surroundings are warm  and welcoming, and are a refreshing break from a hospital-style  environment. Respite care can also provide an ideal environment for  people recovering from illness and wanting help to get back on their  feet. 

4. Nursing with Dementia Care

We provide mild dementia care in our care home.  Royal Leamington Spa Nursing Homes’ approaches to mild dementia care is  rooted in our commitment to promote and maintain active lives;  delivering care that is values driven, focused on the well-being of each  resident and their families. We want people in our care to feel  supported, valued and socially confident.

We had a visit from the Quality Assurance Team from Warwickshire County Council on the 11th of December 2025. The purpose of this visit is to review the quality of care provided by Leamington Spa Nursing Home, for assurance that the service provided to residents is safe and effective.

The Team’s review was guided by; talking to the home manager, deputy manager, care manager, staff, visiting professionals and the residents; a tour of the home; viewing individual care plans of residents, the training matrix, staff personal files and health and safety records and discussing any safeguarding concerns, recent complaints and serious incidents.

Following the Team’s visit, Royal Leamington Spa Nursing Home passed with flying colours with no service improvement plan issued from their visit and the Inspector made these positive comments below.

“It was great to see you and the team again, and how much Royal Leamington Spa Nursing Home has developed over the past couple of years. There are many positive developments and outcomes that were noted, from the impressive training and development statistics and the regular supportive meetings with care home staff, relatives and the residents. The residents, staff and visitors were seen to be very happy and content throughout the visit and it was lovely to hear so many positive comments”.
